Titanic was famous for its maiden voyage, in which is sank with a great loss of life. It represented the ultimate in Luxury travel across the Atlantic ocean when air travel was in its infancy. Unfortunately the ship was considered 'unsinkable' and carried few lifeboats or other life preservers.
