Mk IV Male Tank |
The Western Front in World War One stagnated into a series of assaults by the allies on prepared German defensive trenches bristling with barbed wire and machine gun nests. The allies developed the tank to overcome these obstacles and drive holes into the German defences through which the infantry could advance and occupy the German positions. The technology was new and suffered from initial teething problems but had enough potential for the vehicles to be developed through several types. This is a 360-degree view of one of the later types. |
