Troodon was a small omnivorous theropod that lived around 75 to 70 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period, it is thought to have been one of the most intelligent dinosaurs because its brain is relatively big for its body. It also had large eyes and grasping hands Troodon was bipedal and walked on two long hind legs and is estimated to have been able to run quite fast.

Troodon had a large sickle claw on its middle toe that it rotated backwards when running. Troodon's diet included small lizards, other small animals and probably anything else it could find.

Troodon means "wounding tooth". Fossils were first discovered in 1855 by Ferdinand V. Hayden. It was named by palaeontologist Joseph Leidy in 1856.
