Utahraptor was a carnivorous Theropod that lived around 125 million years ago during the mid Cretaceous period. Like other raptors Utahraptor had a large 30cm retractable sickle claw on the second toe of each foot. Its possible that Utahraptor hunted in packs and preyed on even the biggest vegetarians of the time.

Utahraptor fossils have been found central Utah, western USA. Utahraptor was named in 1993 by James I. Kirkland, Robert Gaston and Donald Burge. Utahraptor means "Robber from Utah".
